Chaidh an Comunn a stèidheachadh ann an 1831 gus a bhith ag àrdachadh inbhe na Gàidhlig aig Oilthigh Ghlaschu.  Bhon àm sin tha an Comunn air a bhith a' strì airson na Gàidhlig agus a' toirt cothroman do dh'oileanaich Oilthigh Ghlaschu an cànan aca a chleachdadh anns am beatha laitheal.

An-diugh, bidh an Comunn a' cur air dòigh tachartasan soisealta airson Gàidheil is Goill agus a' cur a-mach fiosrachadh mun a' Ghàidhlig. Bidh sinn ag obair leis an Oilthigh gus a' Ghàidhlig a dhèanamh nas fhollaisiche air feadh an Oilthigh.

Welcome to the Ossianic Society website! Thanks for visiting.

The Society was constituted in 1831 to promote the Gaelic language and to provide the opportunity for Gaels to use the language on campus. From that time the society has promoted Gaelic at Glasgow University.

Today the society puts on social events for Gaelic and non-Gaelic speakers alike and helps learners of the language improve their Gaelic. We will also be working with the University to increase the visibility of the Gaelic language on campus.
